March John C Garand Match

|

Just a reminder,

Tucson Rifle Club's March John C Garand Match will be held this coming Sunday 19 Mar 06.

Once again this month shooters in the "As Issued" match will use new CMP optical character reader scorecards. Remember, even though you may not be shooting an "As Issued" rifle you may be scoring for someone who is. Know how to fill in the card correctly!

Go to http://www.tucsonrifleclub.org/Forms/CMP.jpg for a look at the new instructions.

Key points are:
-Name, address, etc info need to filled out completely and *legibly!*
-Xs are entered as "10" and a filled in "X" bubble
-Misses are entered as "0" and a filled in "M" bubble
-No extraneous marks on the form or in the boxes to confuse the optical character reading machine

The information on these scorecards is used to determine the top 100 Garand Match scores nationwide which are posted at
http://clubs.odcmp.com/cgi-bin/report_topEICScores.cgi?eic=Garand&year=2006

Range gate opens around 0630. Squadding starts on the 200yd line after the pits are set up. First round downrange at approx 0700 (sunrise).

Match fee is $10 for adults; juniors and military shoot for free.

Ammunition is available for use in the match: $10 for 60 rounds of M1 Rifle or M1 Carbine.

Several privately-owned rifles and carbines are available for loan free of charge. Club ammo must be purchased and used. Contact me if you need one.

See you there,

Maury
