November 2007 Archives
The November Roy Dunlap Highpower Rifle Match is cancelled.
I only got two positive replies back :-(
That's not enough to justify bringing out the people who
volunteered to run the match (but not shoot). Especially on a holiday
weekend.
The next Roy Dunlap Match will be Saturday 22 Dec 07. Expect a
0800 start time.
See you there,
Maury
Every year on the weekend of Veteran's Day, the Phoenix Rod and Gun Club hosts a team High Power event to honor our veterans while simultaneously providing a venue for marksmanship, comradere and friendship amongst Arizona High power shooters.

This once a year match is, with good reason, titled the "Patriot's Match". TRC well represented Tucson in this years Patriot Match with TRC's Team "Black", comprised of Kim Wood, Jeff Schneider, Lee McKinney and Karl Kasarda. Also representing Tucson (although on the AZ Junior team) was Tyler Rico.
Just a reminder,
Tucson Rifle Club's monthly John C Garand Match will be held this
coming Sunday 18 Nov 07.
Range gate opens around 0630. If the office isn't open
yet and there's no sign-in sheet on the outside table you must still
sign-in before you leave for the day.
Squadding starts on the 200yd line after the pits are set
up. First round downrange at 0700.
Match fee is $10 for adults; juniors and military shoot for free.
Ammunition is available for use in the match: $10 for 60 rounds
of M1 Rifle or M1 Carbine.
Several privately-owned rifles and carbines are available for loan free of
charge. Club ammo must be purchased and used. Contact me if you need
one.
Reduced targets to simulate the standard National Match Course are
available on request. Ask for them when squadding.
See you there,
Maury
Restyling of our website is now done. It has been about 3 years since our last major touch up--and about 7 years since TRC first went online! From time to time old-style pages may appear that have been overlooked. If so, send email to our webmaster with the url(s) of the page(s) in question and we'll change them over.
Some new things introduced with this restyling are a new calendar page and an upgrade of our weblog software.
The TRC calendar is now completely online. Opening our splash page extracts a two week listing of calendar scheduled events, while the main calendar page shows all scheduled events for the current year as well as past years.
Our blog software (Movable Type) has been upgraded from version 3.x to 4.x, which is basically a complete rewrite of the old software. We hope to have multiple authors contributing and editing entries with this version. Keep tuned.
If you want to look at some of the early years of the website, check out the "WayBack machine."
