NRA Rifle Silhouette Pistol and Cowboy Rifle Silhouette

Match Dates 2008:   January 26, 2008, March 22, 2008, (March 28, 29, and 30 – State Hunter Pistol  Championships) April 26, 2008, and May 24, 2008, June 28, 2008, July 26, 2008, August 23, 3008, September 27, 2008, October 25, 2008. November 22, 2008 , December 27, 2008 .
I.E., the fourth Saturday of each month.

Location:         All matches will be held at the Three Points Range.   The range is located 24 miles west of Interstate 19, on Highway 86, Ajo Highway , at milepost 148.  The matches are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. , with the possibility of an earlier beginning during the warmer months.

Entry Fees:       $6.00 for each entry.

Rules:              Current NRA Silhouette Rules will prevail.

Classification:  Current NRA classification will be used.  Shooters not having a NRA classification will be classified at the conclusion of their initial match.

Equipment:      The cowboy competition is for open sighted, tube fed, lever-action rifles as specified in the NRA rules for cowboy rifle competition.  (Rifles, or loads which are believed, by the match director, to be damaging to the targets will be disallowed.)  The small bore cowboy rifle competition is open to tube fed guns, which are not bolt actions, using 22 long rifle cartridges only.  The pistol competition will be according to NRA rules for pistol silhouette competition.

Safety;             Open bolt indicators (OBI's) are mandatory, and will remain in any uncased gun when not on the line being fired.  Eye and ear protection is required for anyone on the firing line.  Only the shooter and spotter/scorer may occupy positions on the firing line.

Categories:      Cowboy Lever Action, Pistol Cartridge Cowboy Lever Action, Smallbore Cowboy Rifle. Conventional Standing, Unlimited Standing, Conventional (FS), Conventional Revolver(FS),  Hunter's Pistol,  Hunter's Pistol Open Sights,  Smallbore Hunter's Pistol,  Smallbore Hunter's Pistol Open Sights.

Course of Fire: The matches will be forty shots each. Shooters will fire straight through, i.e., each shooter will begin with chickens and will continue firing until finished at all distances.  Entries into additional categories are encouraged.

Awards:           When sufficient numbers of shooters are entered within a category's class, placing will be recognized.
